WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE FOLLOWING ORGANISATIONS FOR THEIR SUPPORT
Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is committed to investing in the Katanning Research Facility (KRF) as a leading research facility to showcase commercially relevant and practical agricultural digital technologies and tools to improve the performance of farm businesses.
DPIRD is partnering with Southern Dirt for ‘Technologies in the Field’ on Day 2 of Techspo with demonstrations and practical workshops at KRF. Attendees will have access to AgTech service providers, as well as the opportunity to use each of the products and configurations in the field to determine which combination may best suit their needs.
At Adama we strive for a world where everybody has food security, and everybody in farming has a fulfilling and rewarding life. Sounds impossible? Many share this vision with us, but we do it differently, here’s how.
Dare to create simplicity
Farming is complex and full of challenges. We work together with agronomists, distributors and the wide farming communities, to find ways to simplify it. We constantly question convention to move farming forward through simple, practical and innovative solutions in crop protection and beyond.
Help farmers grow
Farming happens not only in the field. We support farmers to get things done in their businesses and beyond – from sowing to sales, from their labor in the field to their families, their partnerships and raising their status in society.
We want to build close relationships with farmers by being honest, open and agile. We use digital technology to build and run a powerful network that brings people together and influences farming behavior across the world.
Open up new possibilities
We recognise farming must and will be constantly reinvented. Through our emerging platforms in fast growing markets, we can quickly reach and impact farmers in all parts of the world.
Build on heritage
Years ago, we were part of a journey that helped farmers make the desert green in a sustainable way, allowing a nation to flourish. Now we empower our people to help farmers do the same again – on a global scale.
Farmers cannot achieve this step change alone. That’s why we, at Adama, work hand-in-hand with farmers and farming to: Simply. Grow. Together.

In practice, this means that growers, farm hands, agronomists, input providers, contractors, banks, accountants, land owners and many other stakeholders are able to all work together on the same set of data. Shire of Katanning
The Shire of Katanning is centrally located in the ‘heart’ of the Great Southern. It offers the advantages of a rural lifestyle, with the convenience of easy access to the cities of Perth, Albany and Bunbury. While the area is essentially agricultural, the town is a regional centre with access to a range of recreation and leisure facilities, government, health and education services, as well as a diverse retail and business district.
The townsite is situated on the Great Southern Hwy, with the main entrance framed by the picturesque and adventurous All Ages Playground and the newly completed Welcome to Katanning roundabout.
Why are we attempting to overcome the ‘interoperability’ issue of disparate data?
“As a farmer I deal with the limitations that farmers face everyday, I am also frustrated by the amount of data that I am already capturing, BUT not fully utilising and I don’t have an overarching decision support platform to assist repeatable decision making.
Centralising data sets that are related in operation, but not connected in reality is core to Pairtree’s connectivity value proposition and market position.
This is why we have committed to providing an agricultural centric solution that works with your existing platforms and complements the many data sources of your business.”
Wagin Agricultural Society
Of far more significance than the building projects the Society has brought to the showgrounds is the family-focused event itself which gives Wagin its point of difference from other small rural towns and to be a forum for all other interest groups within the district to fund-raise. In the process it engages all age groups and builds strength into its people. As well as enthusiastically showcasing all that rural Australia has to offer, it celebrates all those who contribute, and have contributed, to our rich rural history, prosperity and life style.
A not-for-profit organisation, the Wagin Agricultural Society exists to build strength and capacity into the people and township of Wagin.
