About the Talk: Food Protein Production – World trends
When referring to the feeding of an increasing population expected to reach 9 billion in 2050 with the necessary nutrients, the food industry faces a huge challenge in the coming years. But it also is in front of important opportunities to change the way we produce, process and consume food. Different initiatives and ideas focusing on protein production have an interesting potential regarding the possibility of generating innovations able to disrupt this sector. Susanna will talk about world trends and highlight opportunities for agriculture in Australia.
Susanna Morley started as a cook, retrained as a food technologist and continues as an interested and hands-on party in all aspects of the agri-food business in this region. She works a a consultant in the Gascoyne and the Great Southern and the city with SMEs and Start-Ups in food, beverage and food service. She applies a global perspective in to value adding opportunities for primary producers that could leverage the premium quality and provenance of commodities on to the world stage. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology.
