Presenter: Professor Simon Cook, Premiers Fellow Agriculture and Food, Curtin and Murdoch Universities
Simon Cook is an internationally accomplished scientist with 25 years’ experience in agriculture systems and natural resource management. He is an expert in applying data science and technologies to help solve applied problems at regional and farm levels, with experience in research management to support precision agriculture, information-rich natural resource use and agricultural development. He has recently taken up the position as the Premier’s Fellow in Agriculture and Food, based at Curtin and Murdoch Universities.
About the Talk: Digital agriculture is here to stay, and must be embraced if the agriculture industry has any chance of keeping ahead. In his talk, Simon will discuss some of the trends in digital agriculture and how he is helping growers translate the large amounts of data they produce into improved decision making, in a network across Australia and beyond.
